All in all I got pretty close to Bob's style with this technique, but since Bob Ross always uses very simple methods that dont rely on details to create great looking paintings it's hard to apply this style.Overall although it was a bit frustrating painting step by step I think I did a good job.I injoyed the overall result of my painting.
Glass on Black Paper
The chalk was messy to work with, it was my first time using it this kind of material, although they are less messy than oil pastels. With the thick limes of white chalk it looks like a glass piece. The difficult part was adding other colors in the back.

What is the most important aesthetic quality of your painting? If you are unsure what aesthetic means then look up the meaning and write it with your critique.
I accomplished texture in the tree trunk by adding large amounts of paint over and over again to create a bumpy texture. The sky is a mixture of baby blue and light pink so I tried to slowly blend those colors into each other slowly fading. - Explain your creative process. Discuss how you used techniques learned in class to create a successful painting.
I tried my best in the order to paint certain things for example I had to paint the background first before painting a bird. - Reflect your growth through the project.
I have more practice on layering objects as well as adding texture.Although what I think that I have really grown in is adding a more realistic appeal with layering. - Discuss craftsmanship and quality of your painting.
The overall result of my painting is neat and lacking some patience in the end result of the grass.

I used the palate knife to add texture and make a successful textured painting. 7.Describe any difficulties you had creating your drawing and what you could do to improve your drawing?
I was definitely a huge challenge using oil paint.I disliked the fact that it took for ever to dry and because of that I would always get it on my clothes. 8. Explain the successes you had with this painting.

2. How does your work embody the artist’s style?
My work is more of a pastel like colors which is like my artist style.I prefer light shades of colors
3.Describe your choice of colors/color harmonies and how you used them throughout the artwork.
My choice in colors were light pastel colors because they have high value and low to intermediate saturation.
4.What is the emphasis (focal point) of your artwork?
The focal point in my painting would be the koi fish because they very detailed and the many designs above the pond which is a sidewalk.
5.How did you use textures and patterns to embellish your artwork?
There is somewhat a texture in the pond to emphasize the ponds light waves while the koi fish swim around.
How did you put a border on your artwork? How does it enhance the work?
I currently have not added a boarder although I think if I were to add one I think it would tie the artwork together.
6.Describe any difficulties you had creating this artwork.
It was difficult in creating my artwork was the order to paint certain parts,I couldn't paint one thing because then I would have missed that I had to paint something under that.Basically I could paint randomly a little here and a little there there was a certain order to paint things. And it was difficult when something turned out great then I forget something.

Painting
1. What watercolor techniques proved to be effective in your painting? How and Why?
The water techniques proving to be effective in my painting include line, shape, form, value, space, color, and texature.
2. How important was using transparent layers in your painting?
Using transparent layer in my painting was important because, it guided me on exactly what I needed to paint and where. It just took more time to slowly repaint does areas and not over do it where light reflects back.
3. Explain how your composition was successful? Did you utilize all the elements of art and principles of design? Explain.
Line is an element of art defined by a point moving in space. Line may be two-or three-dimensional, descriptive, implied, or abstract which is what I tried to do with the wood for a more realistic appeal. Shape is an element of art that is two-dimensional, flat, or limited to height and width, is when I tried to distribute the scenery object from the picture. Form An element of art that is three-dimensional and encloses volume; includes height, width AND depth (as in a cube, a sphere, a pyramid, or a cylinder) and the way that i painted the trees. Form may also be free flowing. Value The lightness or darkness of tones or colors like in the logs. White is the lightest value which was very hard to keep when using watercolor and black is the darkest which I used for the tree trunk and some shadows in the logs. Space is an element of art by which positive and negative areas are defined or a sense of depth achieved in a work of art . Color an element of art made up of three properties: hue, value, and intensity. I used value in hue’s of lightness and darkness (a color’s value changes when white or black is added) for the tree top. Then I used Intensity in quality of brightness and purity (high intensity= color is strong and bright; low intensity= color is faint and dull) in the grass.Although I also added texture to create a more detailed logs An element of art that refers to the way things feel, or look as if they might feel if touched.
4. Was color choice an important factor in the overall success of the painting? Why?
The color green choice was an important factor in the overall success of the painting because greenish tint are overly empathized ind in nature and its a vital aspect of my painting to include plenty of green. It expresses that nature is green.Color produces different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light.
5. Describe your craftsmanship.
I exercised the colors to brighten, darken, hide or emphasize areas,Watercolour is a versatile and flexible medium that can yield a variety of results.I experimented with different sizes to work out what my favourite brushed are.
6. If you were able to do something different what would it be and why?
If I were able to do something different id would be that i would use different techniques to accomplish a more realistic view of the tree leaves with a lot of patience.I would also have liked to used more water color forms to change the appeal of the final result.
7. Explain to me what you have learned about watercolor and how it has improved or discouraged your development in art.
I have learned that watercolor is a very delicate form of painting for me and requires a good coordination of the paint brush and that their isn't white watercolor to add to.Im not very fond of using watercolor so I have therefore tried improved in using it a little more.Watercolor has not discouraged my development in art and I will just have to practice using it a little more until I have somewhat mastered the ability to use watercolor to my liking. There are no mistakes in art there is alway a solution to every problem.
